The Surgical Support Services division operates all of its facilities in compliance with the requirements of Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC, ISO9001(2000) and ISO13485 in the U.K.
In delivery of its services to customers Surgical Synergy complies with the pertinent elements of Healthcare Commission’s Core Standards, which are set out below:
- C1a: identification and learning from patient safety and other reportable incidents;
- C1b: proactive responses to patient safety notices, alerts and other communications;
- C3: adherence to NICE guidelines in agreement with customers
- C4b: the application of risk management techniques and assessments to minimize risk associated with the acquisition of medical devices;
- C4c: manage the risk and processes associated with decontamination of medical devices through compliance and experience
- C4e: Synergy segregates and appropriately disposes of waste materials and products;
- C7a&c: Synergy applies principals of sound corporate governance and undertake systematic risk assessments and risk management;
- C7b&e: Synergy supports its employees in appropriate delivery of the service and to challenge discrimination and promote equality;
- C8b: Synergy recognizes the contribution and value of staff and actively promotes and supports their personal development;
- C9: Synergy has a clearly defined and managed document and records control system;
- C10a: Synergy undertakes appropriate pre-employment checks;
- C11a, b, c: Synergy ensures all staff are appropriately recruited, trained and qualified, participate in mandatory training and participate in on-going training.
- C12: Synergy has an active R&D unit developing processes to enhance service delivery, decontamination processing and patient safety.
